Redefining Myself: The Rotary Way

Redefining Myself: The Rotary Way

When I joined Rotary nine years ago, I had no idea I was signing up for a journey that would redefine me in ways I never imagined. I thought Rotary was all about service, but little did I know – it would also serve me!

From an ordinary woman juggling responsibilities to a confident leader, Rotary has been my transformation lab. I learned to be accountable, approachable, and, most importantly, unstoppable. Leadership wasn’t just a word anymore; it became second nature. Service wasn’t just about giving; it was about growing.

Confidence, Courage, and a Throw Ball!

Rotary didn’t just shape my mindset – it reshaped my life. It gave me the confidence to take the stage, the courage to own it, and the grace to dance through life’s challenges. Who knew I’d start playing throw ball after missing out on it in my childhood? Better late than never, right? Now, I don’t just watch matches – I play them!

And then there’s the fashion evolution! Rotary groomed me in ways I never expected. I now present myself with confidence, whether in a sari at a service project, a power suit at a leadership event, or sportswear on the throw ball court.

Beyond Rotary – A Family of a Hundred

Rotary isn’t just about titles and roles; it’s about friendships that turn into family. Over the years, I’ve held positions from treasurer to secretary to president, and even district officer roles – but the real reward? A new family of over 100 amazing friends who inspire, support, and challenge me every day.

Rotary also taught me something invaluable – there is life beyond work. As someone who has spent 25 years shaping young minds through education, I’ve always been committed to helping others grow. But Rotary reminded me to grow myself too. It encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, explore new opportunities, and embrace challenges with open arms. For me, Rotary is more than just an organization – it’s a way of life. It’s commitment, leadership, self-development, service, sports, dancing, outings, friendships, and everything in between. It’s about finding the best version of myself, one project, one match, and one laugh at a time!
