The Science of Smiles, The Art of Sparkle

If you’d told four-year-old me that one day I’d be working with diamonds instead of just teeth, I would have flashed my brightest, most cavity-free grin and laughed it off. Yet here I am – Dr. M. Shilpa Bothra, a dentist by degree, a diamond connoisseur by destiny, and a firm believer that both a perfect smile and a sparkling gem can turn heads.
My journey began the traditional way – ace school, chase the dream, and land in Ramachandra for a BDS. Dentistry was my calling, and I took it seriously, even diving into a fellowship in implantology. But life has a way of surprising you, and soon enough, I found myself stepping into the glittering world of diamonds – something deeply embedded in my family’s legacy.
At first, it felt like I was shifting from molars to marquise cuts overnight. But then, it struck me – teeth and diamonds have more in common than I thought. Both need precision, both need care, and both, when flawless, can light up a room. Dentistry taught me patience and precision; diamonds taught me an appreciation for brilliance and detail. And somehow, my two worlds now fit seamlessly together – because why settle for just one sparkle when you can have both?
With 32 teeth and 58 facets in a diamond, my story revolves around dazzling, bright white perfection. Whether it’s crafting a perfect smile or curating the perfect jewel, my motto remains the same – KSA: Keep Smiling Always.
But let’s be real – life isn’t always a perfectly cut solitaire. It’s more like an unpolished diamond that needs time, pressure, and the right hands to reveal its brilliance. Stepping into my family’s business was never a detour; it was destiny. Now, I get to blend science with artistry, precision with passion, and legacy with my own unique touch.
Of course, none of this would be possible without my biggest cheerleaders – my family. Their unwavering support lets me chase both passion and profession, and for that, I am forever grateful.
So here’s to living life with a radiant smile and a little extra sparkle – because, let’s be honest, diamonds and confidence are a girl’s best friends! 😉
Keep Smiling Always!
